The Telework Industry

Organizations such as the Federal Government and technology companies are fully aware of the benefits associated with the telework concept.  Advocates of this remote approach toward work are pushing for more companies and individuals to participate.  Technology has matured to the point where a new paradigm is evolving in which significant amounts of time, money, and, energy can be saved with the implementation of telework programs.  Other benefits such as increased productivity, reduction of traffic, increased morale, and, the retention of high demand talent have also pointed toward the growth of the telework concept.  It has become an industry in itself.

Therefore, LCS is expanding its membership reach with a service that is conducive to the Micro Business Team Initiative (MBTI) in which we are calling "Professional Services" (PS) for the telework industry.  The MBTI-PS approach works within the already established TMS service offering.  In actuality, we are training consultants towards LCS certification as business development professionals.  Our consultants work and train remotely.

Telework and "The Virtual Office"

Until now, most companies have needed to buy or rent office space in which to provide a pleasant work environment for their employees.  The cost associated with such provisions are significant even for the smallest of companies.  However, with the telework concept, these costs are now heading down.  And, individual contractors (consultants) are gaining greater independence by working from home.

Looking at telework from the LCS perspective, we're building the capabilities for professionals to connect with corporate clients who are interested in their expertise while also reducing overhead costs.  As a catalyst between the two parties, we are making it possible for them to connect easily according to their own specific needs.  Our telework based membership easily combines the needs of corporations with the services that independent contractors provide.  Thus, this is a buy/sell membership.

Telework and the virtual office are essentially the same.  Our consulting professionals are expected to provide for their own home office and equipment.  Our corporate clients will accommodate the telework environment with technology on their end as well.  Therefore, under a secure format, a marriage is made between those working from home with the projects provided by the corporate customer.  All control and management remains in the hands of the project owners.  However, practically all the work can be accomplished by means of remote participation.

Telework Promotes Prosperity

The telework industry was created with the objective of saving time, money and energy.  In the case for the LCS version of telework, the maximum amount of prosperity within this industry can be realized for the corporate customer members as well as for our professional services members.

For example, we are in the midst of a wave of retiring "Baby Boomers" in which the best of expertise is walking away from Corporate America.  Replacing this talent is still a huge concerns for many.  The LCS solution to help ease the pressure will have those retiring employees in a position to still provide that high level of expertise after retirement.  They can become consultants from home and basically do much of the same work.  Let's face it, most "Baby Boomers" are looking for something to do after retirement.  Therefore, why not let them do what they do best?  By working remotely from home on a part-time basis, these highly skilled people can still contribute to corporations on levels that they're use to getting.

Corporations benefit in many ways from this solution as well.  Besides significantly reducing payroll costs (and other associated benefits), they'll also realize the cost reduction of facilities and other supporting costs.  There are definite bottom line benefits associated with utilizing the telework approach on a regular basis within the core business model for most corporations.  As providers of such services, our professional members will start new alliances and gain contracts and projects that enable them to work as much (or little) as they wish.  They'll be in complete control of their income as well as their schedules.  They get to market their expertise to various organizations needing their skills within our consortium of members.
